VBT# Deathless and Divided - Bethany Kris

Deathless & Divided (The Chicago War, #1)

Review: Deathless and Divided - Book #1 The Chicago Wars - Bethany Kris - September 2015

Firstly, I was attracted to this book because of it's amazing graffiti like cover and secondly, I have always had a thing for reading books about the mafia and mob's as I loved shows like Mob Doctor, Allegiance and Crime shows. Mainly though, I picked this book as I am shamelessly a cover crusher. Deathless and Divided introduces us to a Mafia family called the DeLuca's where Damian Rossi which btw is last name made me think of Rossi from Criminal Minds, owes a debt and unfortunately with the Mafia you never know when that debt will be paid off or how they will want you to clear it - in most ways it could be done through killing which Damian has never minded too much as he has made it his life goal to stay invisible and become known as the Ghost but now the DeLuca clan have something more involved in mind for Damian- they want him to marry their sister Lily who has just returned home from travelling, though this won't be an easy task as Lily wants nothing to do with the family business and she definitely isn't planning on settling down anytime soon and more so not with anyone who her brothers have picked out and arranged.  When danger strikes though and blood starts painting the town red and the gangs have declared War , it means one thing to Lily - in order to remain safe and sound she must stick close to her family as despite their differences in the game of life and death - blood and loyalties mean everything and Damian may be the only thing keeping her safe, sound and alive.
For a action-packed , gang story and fans of The Departed , Mob Doctor and other gang shows will enjoy , check out Book #1 In the Chicago Wars where you are to remain strong and loyal as not to be succumbed to "Deathless and Divided".
