VBT# Beauty and the Bachelor - Naima Simone

Beauty and the Bachelor

Review: Beauty and the Bachelor - Bachelor Auction Series - Naima Simone - August 2015

When I saw this book it first made me think of the fairytale Beauty and the Beast and since I am a fan of renditions, I thought it would make a good read. The second thing that attracted me to this book was the words "auction" as ever since I watched the movie Coyote Ugly when it was released over 10 years ago - a bachelor auction always sounded quite fun , I even quite enjoyed it when they had one on Gilmore Girls with the picnic baskets.  Beauty and the Bachelor takes place in Boston where we meet Lucas Oliver whom is known as The Beast of Back Bay - this made me smile as I stayed in Back Bay when I visited America in 2013 and of course I am a fan of Rizzoli and Isles which is also set in Back Bay. Lucas Oliver was formerly known up to the age of 14 as Brandon Ellison - son of Robert Ellison until a series of tragic events occurred and he lost everyone he cared for. Now he's back and he wants revenge on the person who took everything from him- Jason Blake and the way he is going to get it is by seducing and blackmailing his daughter Sydney into marrying him.  Can Sydney who has lived under her families thumb since she was a little girl, stand up for herself and tell Lucas to get lost and go to hell or will she succumb to his commands and marry him to protect her family yet they are willing to disown her ? What will happen though when the truth starts to unravel and is revealed and they discover that they in fact might have started the marriage loveless and as a contract, but over time they have developed actual feelings of love for one another ? Once the year is up, will they go their separate ways or will they realise that despite their bumpy start in their relationship, they are meant to be together forever - till death do them part ?
Find out in Beauty and the Bachelor , which takes a similiar thread of Beauty and the Beast thrusted into the corporate world of America .
