Review: Irene in College - Book #1 The Life and Times Series - Lori Goldson - March 2015

When I got this book, I was excited as I love College based fiction and New Adult. Though reading it , I was in two minds as the story starts off with Irene who is in College and turning away , well trying to her on/off again boyfriend Edwin and the way it was written it was almost like this should have been Book #2 as I was wondering what the backstory of these characters were as it seemed like I was missing something. We soon learn that prior to College Irene was one of those academic girls who were on the rise to success but as soon as she fell into college , she started hanging around with a bad crowd - I only call them bad as they were a distraction to her college classes and life. As we go through the book, we see that Irene is failing and falling behind her classes and work and we start to wonder whether college is the right place for her or not. We later read as she leaves College to look after her sick mother and soon her life is filled with her mother and looking after her. Will life ever become easy or is one hard obstacle challenge after another ?

Review: Steel Princess - Book #2 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - December 2019 At the end of Book #1, we were left on a cliffhanger of Elsa being pushed into the pool. At the beginning of book #2, she is saved by a newcomer to the school - Knox.  We can see some friendly flirting but nothing more going on between these two, but it riles up Aiden who still has this mindset of "if I can't have her, no-one can" especially since he is supposed to be engaged to Silver Queens. During Book #2 Elsa starts to recall some more memories and goes to Dr.Khan in hopes that he can open her Pandora's box and can restore her full memories of what happened before she was seven years old. We also catch a glimpse during this book of her past and why Aiden King's father blames her for his mother's death and why Aiden considered Elsa a ghost. Review: Dr. Strange Beard - Book #5 Winston Brothers Series - Penny Reid - July 2018 If there is a family that I love to read about it has been the Winston Brothers. This has to be one of my favorite book series out there as the brothers ; you can't help but fall in love with them all - with their funny quirks and their redneck comments.
