Review: An American Girl in Italy - Aubrie Dionne - May 2014

Going to Italy and playing in concerts around Europe would be anyone's dream , a nice vacation with a little music on the side. For Carly though who does not like change and is not one for romantic and spontaneous gestures as we gather from the story, she is not too keen but sees this as a once in a lifetime opportunity and along with her orchestra , she heads to Italy. Reading this book, I would kindly take Carly's place as who wouldn't love a trip to Italy and experience the Italian vineyards, the culture and the history. It seems though that Carly has unintentionally caught the eye of the tour guide Michaelangelo who is hiding a secret that could cause him to not only lose his job but his family's vineyard which was passed onto him, so he has one goal in mind - to focus on taking the tour and not stuffing up, this is hard to do though as Carly has captured not only his attention but also his heart. What will happen though when it seems that he has the attention of spoilt diva Alaina ? Can he let Alaina down easily or is she the type to have everything handed to her and in her world - there is no second best ? An American Girl in Italy was a nice contemporary romance that mixed both the American and Italian cultures together with the occassional stereotype chucked into the mix.
