Review: Queen of the Clueless - Book #2 Interim Goddess Series - Mina V. Esguerra - February 2013

Hannah is back for another go at being the "Interim Goddess of Love" but it seems that she still has alot to learn especially when it comes to what is going on in the minds of the Gods - Quin , Diego and Vida. This book starts with an art trip where Hannah sees a painting that depicits Quin and Diego's life and the one true love of Diego and it brings her to tears. She is dating Robbie, well trying to but her crush on Quin is about to bring her to a new level when she calls out in despair and summons Vida - who we discover is the Goddess of Despair. What mayhem will Vida cause now that Hannah has officially summoned her for help ? If this Goddess business wasn't tough enough, Hannah is having issues with her best friend Sol. Sol's boyfriend Neil who is a RK ( Rich Kid) has been stealing from others , though of course nobody can remember exactly when they lost their things. It turns out though that Neil is "a special" and has the ability to manipulate people into doing what he says. Can Hannah get through to Sol with the help of Diego who features more frequently in this book without losing her friendship with Sol forever ? Also in this book, we discover another power of Diego as he heals Hannah's pain away. In this book it made me wonder whether their will be a spark between Diego and Hannah as there is certainly a stronger chemistry between these two than Hannah and Quin or Hannah and Robbie.
 Another great and easy read for fans of modern renditions of Gods and Goddesses and for those who want to learn a little background on Filipino Mythology at the same time.

Review: Steel Princess - Book #2 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - December 2019 At the end of Book #1, we were left on a cliffhanger of Elsa being pushed into the pool. At the beginning of book #2, she is saved by a newcomer to the school - Knox.  We can see some friendly flirting but nothing more going on between these two, but it riles up Aiden who still has this mindset of "if I can't have her, no-one can" especially since he is supposed to be engaged to Silver Queens. During Book #2 Elsa starts to recall some more memories and goes to Dr.Khan in hopes that he can open her Pandora's box and can restore her full memories of what happened before she was seven years old. We also catch a glimpse during this book of her past and why Aiden King's father blames her for his mother's death and why Aiden considered Elsa a ghost. Review: Dr. Strange Beard - Book #5 Winston Brothers Series - Penny Reid - July 2018 If there is a family that I love to read about it has been the Winston Brothers. This has to be one of my favorite book series out there as the brothers ; you can't help but fall in love with them all - with their funny quirks and their redneck comments.
