Review: Crane - Stacey Rourke

Review: Crane - Book #1 Legends Saga - Stacey Rourke - May 2014

Are you a fan of renditions ? Love the tale of "Sleepy Hollow" with the Headless Horseman ? Author Stacey Rourke brings a twist on the old tale with Crane which flashes from past to present throughout the whole novel as we first meet three best friends Washington Irving , Ichabold Crane and Rip Van Winkle , recovering from the war these three travel to Sleepy Hollow where Crane has been tasked with the job of being the new schoolmaster. It is here where we learn about the tale of the Headless Horseman and how somehow Ichabold Crane ended up with the bad reputation when considering the way his mate Rip Van Winkle behaved , he should have been the one to earn the reputation. The novel then flicks to the present time where somebody disguised as the Headless Horseman is killing the townsfolk of Sleepy Hollow and a new Crane has moved into town. Ireland Crane has headed here for a fresh start, but it won't be the fresh start she expected as the town reveals a curse that the "Cranes" carry within them.  With the help of Rip Van Winkle who has been under a sleeping spell all these centuries , can Ireland figure out a way to end the curse before more of the townsfolk of Sleepy Hollow are killed ?
If you love the tale of Sleepy Hollow , then you will enjoy "Crane" by Stacey Rourke and stay tuned for her upcoming release "Raven" in what I can guess might be an Edgar Allan Poe rendition.
