Review: Sweet Southern Betrayal - Book #3 The Boys are Back in Town - Robin Covington - January 2014

In the mood for some entangled indulgence this summer or depending which part of the world you are in - it could be a winter read in front of a fireplace ? Book #3 in Robin Covington's series The Boys are Back in Town takes us into the life of hotshot lawyer Teague Elliott who is on his way up and seems like a charming snappy lad who in the process doesn't mind playing dirty as he knows that sometimes in this world , to get anywhere and have power sometimes you have to bend and break a few rules. When Teague is offered a job position with a Mob Boss type guy Tony aka Big Tony, he knows he really shouldn't decline it but it's not like he can accept the job offer in front of his present boss as he really doesn't want to have unemployment as an option especially since he is fast-tracking it. All Teague has to do in order to secure his high-rise is stay on track and not get on Tony's bad side and draw attention- well the wrong attention to himself. All goes well, until Teague wakes up in Vegas - yes we all know what Vegas is like , next to a naked showgirl. As the story develops it seems that the naked showgirl named Risa has double-crossed the mob and now Tony wants her dead and she has Teague by his balls so to speak as she has uncovered some of his dark hidden secrets. Now Teague has to make a choice , one that will either destroy everything he has worked for or one that will have him sacrificing love for a career ? Sometimes Southern Betrayal isn't as Sweet as it can be , but rather a Decision breaker ?

Review: Steel Princess - Book #2 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - December 2019 At the end of Book #1, we were left on a cliffhanger of Elsa being pushed into the pool. At the beginning of book #2, she is saved by a newcomer to the school - Knox.  We can see some friendly flirting but nothing more going on between these two, but it riles up Aiden who still has this mindset of "if I can't have her, no-one can" especially since he is supposed to be engaged to Silver Queens. During Book #2 Elsa starts to recall some more memories and goes to Dr.Khan in hopes that he can open her Pandora's box and can restore her full memories of what happened before she was seven years old. We also catch a glimpse during this book of her past and why Aiden King's father blames her for his mother's death and why Aiden considered Elsa a ghost. Review: Dr. Strange Beard - Book #5 Winston Brothers Series - Penny Reid - July 2018 If there is a family that I love to read about it has been the Winston Brothers. This has to be one of my favorite book series out there as the brothers ; you can't help but fall in love with them all - with their funny quirks and their redneck comments.
