Review: While it Lasts - Book #3 Sea Breeze Series - Abbi Glines - July 2012

One of my favourite New Adult authors happens to be Abbi Glines and it seems I am on a roll with reading her back list and catching up on her books as this is the third one I have read this month. In While it Lasts we meet Cage York who is best friends with Willow aka Low whom we meet in Book #2 Because of Low - Willow was the girl that Marcus Hardy managed to score after he missed out on getting Sadie as she was into Jax in Book #1 Breathe. Growing up Willow aka Low and Cage were the best of friends. However Cage is the type of guy who gets a reputation for sleeping around and being reckless. After a DUI that could cost him his scholarship , the Coach pulls a couple of strings and gets Cage a job working on a friend's farm this summer. However, Cage is going to be in for the ride of his life and a wake up call to his wayward ways as he is intrigued by Eva - the Farmer's Daughter. Eva hates Cage from the first meeting though we learn it is as he is different from Josh - Eva's one and only true love - a fiance who died in Afghanistan. As the story gets along though, we discover that maybe despite their ups and downs and their stubborness ways. The pair of them may be perfect for each other - as Eva maybe the girl to rein in Cage and stop his playboy ways and Cage may very well  be the guy to help pull Eva from her shell and show her that though Josh is gone , she is still alive and has a life to be lived. Though this is a New Adult Novel , it does sit in the cross-overs from a teenage read and as I was reading through it, i couldn't help but think and sing along to the country song "The Farmer's Daughter".
So , if you are a fan of the author Abbi Glines and like me, are making your way through her books - then check out Book #3 in the Sea Breeze Series "While it Lasts".

Review: Steel Princess - Book #2 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - December 2019 At the end of Book #1, we were left on a cliffhanger of Elsa being pushed into the pool. At the beginning of book #2, she is saved by a newcomer to the school - Knox.  We can see some friendly flirting but nothing more going on between these two, but it riles up Aiden who still has this mindset of "if I can't have her, no-one can" especially since he is supposed to be engaged to Silver Queens. During Book #2 Elsa starts to recall some more memories and goes to Dr.Khan in hopes that he can open her Pandora's box and can restore her full memories of what happened before she was seven years old. We also catch a glimpse during this book of her past and why Aiden King's father blames her for his mother's death and why Aiden considered Elsa a ghost. Review: Dr. Strange Beard - Book #5 Winston Brothers Series - Penny Reid - July 2018 If there is a family that I love to read about it has been the Winston Brothers. This has to be one of my favorite book series out there as the brothers ; you can't help but fall in love with them all - with their funny quirks and their redneck comments.
