Review : The Coldest Girl in Coldtown - Holly Black

Review: The Coldest Girl in Coldtown - Holly Black - September 2013

If you are one of those few people out there who don't think that Vampire Fiction is dead and buried and a thing of the past, then you will love Holly Black's new book "The Coldest Girl in Coldtown". For me, I was in two minds with this book as it started off amazing and quite captivating with the main girl Tana waking up in the bathtub after a hard night's party to a room filled with dead people and her ex-boyfriend jerk Adrian tied to a bed post and next to him on the floor a vampire named Gavriel. The book then jumped into the past where Tana explained the history of Coldtown with it's different vampire attacks over the years and then a lot of memories of when her mother was bitten by a Cold one and had the Cold Disease which is the Vampiric disease. The novel then goes to Tana helping out Gavriel as it seems he is in some trouble and Adrien tags along and we wonder whom Tana is more attracted to and it seems that Gavriel is more her type . From then on , it gets a bit slow and for me the story doesn't flow as well as it should as it continues to jump back and forward in time. However , in saying that if you are a fan of Vampire Fiction and all things Supernaturally Sexy then this is the book for you. Come Join the Cold Ones with The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black.

  1. I love the ending. I think that some might be begging for sequels, and whereas I'd like to see more from this world, I do like where it was left.
