Review: Text Me - 8 Novels of First Love - Various Authors

Review: Text Me - 8 Novels of First Love - Various Authors - November 2013

Looking for a new teen novel collection of books to read ? Love reading about First Loves ? One of the things that never leaves us is our first love , we will no matter always remember it. In Text Me , there is something for everyone from Shana Norris writing about Mermaids in a story called Surfacing. This story reminded me a tad of the movie Aquamarine crossed with the TV show H20 : Just Add Water and happened to be my favourite story out of this book. Then next up was a mystery novel set in a High School with a Reality Dancing programme that reminded me of a Dancing with the Stars show by author Amanda Brice titled Codename: Dancer in this book someone is trying to kill of the dancers and make sure that the show doesn't go ahead. This reminded me of the movie Miss Congeniality. Next up was an Angel story called Winging It by Shel Delisle about Grace who has been sent down to earth to become a Guardian Angel. Next follows author Elle Strauss who is famous for her Clockwork series and in Text Me she has written a time travelling story where the main character heads back to the 1950's and meets a hot guy who resembles hunky James Dean . Juli Alexander brings us a story about Witches and mixing potions for evil and not good . Cindy Hogan brings a fun light hearted tale of confessions of a 16 yr old Virgin which reminded me of Louise Rennison's Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging series and is great if you are wanting a light teen romantic read.  Another of my favorite as I love reading renditions of fairy tales was Kate Avery Ellison's story The Curse Girl which is about a girl called Bee -yes like the buzzy bee who is imprisoned in a cursed house and the only way that she can be released is meeting and falling in love which would have been easy if it wasn't for the annoying Will. Last but not least is Chasing Puberty by Kat Brookes which is a tale of Plain Girl turning to be an "It Girl" and showing readers that more often than not is that self-esteem and being the "it" comes from within and not what others think of you.
So needing an anthology for a christmas present to give to a Tween/Teen Girl, then Text Me is the book for them.
