Review: Nobody But Us - Kristin Halbrook

Review: Nobody But Us - Kristin Halbrook - January 2013

Looking for an edgy teen novel ? Check out Nobody But Us by Kristin Halbrook. Nobody But Us takes us into the world of Will and Zoe. Will has been in foster care since he was little when he was neglected by his mother who was a drug user and has just turned eighteen and been kicked out of his foster home as now the State won't pay for him. Zoe is his girlfriend, she is only fifteen but has lived a hard life with an abusive drunk father who is possessive and controlling of her. Will and Zoe decide to escape life and run away together . However, as their journey goes along we read as Zoe and Will come up against some obstacles and some of them more complicated than others . What will happen though when they are alerted as runaways and the FBI come close on their heels ? This is quite a powerful novel and the ending reminded me of the movie starring Dean Cain, Luke Wilson and Drew Barrymore - "Best Men" especially with the ending of this novel. If you love reading edgy teen novels then this is a book for you.
