Review: Spark by Brigid Kemmerer

Review: Spark - Book #2 The Elementals Series - Brigid Kemmerer - August 2012

After reading the first book "Storm" which featured the younger of the Merrick brothers and really enjoying it , I knew I had to read the next books in the series. In Book #2 Spark - we meet one of the twins Gabriel whose element is Fire. After the nearing death threats of The Guides in Book #1 the family has been ordered to lie low , but Gabriel is bored and needs to burn up the energy especially now that he can't play sports for his brother. Even worse is that since he can't switch with Nick in maths as Nick currently has a broken leg, he is failing and bad grades = no sports. In his maths class is Layne - she's the type of girl you would label as a geek but there's something about her that intrigues Gabriel. Can Gabriel prove to Layne that he isn't a dumb jock and that underneath the tough man exterior he really is a nice guy ? Eager to burn up some energy , Gabriel has been spending times around fires but when one fire leads to him saving a girl his brothers become supicious and this may draw some unwanted attention on The Merricks once again. Also in Spark - we read as Becca and Chris start to get closer now she has broken up with Hunter and Nick starts to show an interest in Becca's friend Quinn.
