Review: Rapunzel Untangled - Cindy C. Bennett

One of my favourite things to read are Renditions/Variants of Fairy-tales/Myths and Legends or of Classics. Today's book is a modern version of Rapunzel.

Review: Rapunzel Untangled - Cindy C. Bennett - February 2013
Do you remember the fairy-tale of Rapunzel with her long flowing blonde hair and the evil witch who kidnapped her and locked her away in a tower and there she remained until the prince came and rescued her ?
Now readers, get ready for a modern and contemporary version of the tale with Cindy C. Bennett as she takes us into the life of Rapunzel Goleth or to her friends on Facebook - RG.
Ever since Rapunzel was little , all she has ever know was the tower and has had it repeated to her over and over again - the prophecy and the fact that she cannot leave the tower as she will get sick. Life goes on for Rapunzel until one day whilst misusing her computer she discovers Facebook and joins Facebook. On Facebook, she friends a guy named Fab Fane Anderson. Fane and Rapunzel start talking and soon Fane introduces via Facebook messenger - a whole new and undiscovered world for Rapunzel. Soon whilst Rapunzel's mother is away on business , the pair start hanging out more and more. Soon though, Rapunzel discovers that what she knows and what is the truth isn't lining up with reality and soon she will discover a life she never imagined ?
Who really is Rapunzel and why is she being locked away in the tower and not allowed access to the "real world"?
Rapunzel Untangled by Cindy C. Bennett is a fun and contemporary look at the old Children's fairytale Rapunzel.
