Review: Gates of Paradise - Book #7 Blue Bloods Series - Melissa De La Cruz - January 2013
Have you ever felt sad when you finish a series as you know that you will no longer be able to read about the characters unless of course , the author does a spin-off series which in this case she does with the character Bliss in Wolf Pact. However, it is goodbye to all our favourite Blue Bloods in Gates of Paradise from Mimi and Jack Force, Schulyer Van Alen and Oliver Hazard-Perry to Kingsley Martin. In Gates of Paradise, we discover that Mimi and Jack Force have returned home to Hell and are working as double-agents for Lucifer. Mimi heartbroken as she still loves Kingsley has retained some of her Vampire self and goodness but has Jack completely turned to his side as Abbadon ? While those two are in hell we have Bliss who has discovered her true identity of being a Vampire/Wolf and living in a Wolf Pack. Though when things get tough, Bliss must make the decision of where her alliances lie - with the Blue Bloods Vampires or with the Wolves - Hell Hounds ? Whilst Schulyer, Oliver and Kingsley have all joined forces to discover where the Gates of Paradise are so that Schuyler can save them all ? What happens though when a clue happens to be "The Key is in her father's blood" ? This sends Schulyer on her way to her human Grandmother and connecting with a family she never realised existed and without giving the ending away, all I can say is I loved how Melissa De La Cruz finished the series.
