Review: Bite Club - Rachel Caine

Have you been following the Morganville Vampire Series by Rachel Caine ? Ready for Book #10 - Bite Club ?

Review: Bite Club - Book #10 Morganville Vampires Series - Rachel Caine- May 2011
Are you ready to rumble Vampire/Mortal way ? Wanting to experience a Morganville Vampire novel written differently to the rest of the series?
Bite Club by Rachel Caine is Book #10 of the Morganville Vampires series and starts off quite innocently with Claire sorting the Glass House's mail into piles - Michael's, Shane's , Eve's, Her's and Junk, when Shane arrives downstairs and picks up a flier - there's a new gym opening up and teaching Self Defence and Martial Arts. Shane whose always been a bit of a fighter goes along , but trouble is sure to follow as strange going-ons have been happening around town , Vampires are being killed and there blood is being used as a powerful drug and weapon. It is discovered also that Bishop has escaped and is on the loose . Is Bishop behind all the current weirder than usual going -ons in Morganville ? It seems that the Gym is recruiting fighters to create as an Army for Bishop and then making money off them by casting them as pay-per-fight games , the fighters are being fed Vampire Blood to get up their strength , think "V" on True Blood and you have the gist of the participants of Bite Club. As the novel carries on we see as Shane has become consumed with fighting Vampires and it soon takes over his life, completely transforming him into a stranger - a guy that has no care for his friends and girlfriend. Can Claire save him before it's too late or when she receives the opportunity of a lifetime to leave Morganville and attend her dream school MIT , will she accept and leave this life behind with all the sorrow and heartbreak ?
What is different about this book than the remainder 9 in the series is that it includes the story from Shane's POV which gives the story a stronger substance as we may have just seen it as Claire's Heartbreak and Shane's coldness .Normally , I'm not one for flipping POV's but Rachel Caine has written it in a way that the novel has flown perfectly and complete.
As I come to the end of Bite Club, I'm with mixed emotions as I have finished the book and can't wait for Last Breath but it also symbolises that I am nearing the end of a series. Bite Club is for all those who have read and are continuing their way through the Morganville Vampire Series.
