Goddess of Light (Goddess Summoning, Book 3)
Review: Goddess of Light - Goddess Summoning Series #3 - December 2008
When you talk to authors , they tend to try and stay neutral as they discuss all the different books that they have written but as they talk about the books , you can see that amongst all that they have written, they have a favourite as P.C Cast kindly put it , for authors - books are like children , you are not supposed to have your favourites but you do . For author P.C Cast, the Goddess Summoning series are her favourites. Reading them, I can't blame her as I love them too , even more so than her House of Night Series. It's just that there is something special and awesome about Greek Mythology and myths and legends, something - a piece that you can hold onto the past. Then you mix with that some Modern Mortal input and you have a Mortal- God/Goddess Love. In Goddess of Light we meet the Twin Gods Apollo and Artemis as well as Bacchus - God of Las Vegas, the God of Good times and Sin. Our Mortal being is Pamela Gray , she has just gotten out of a draining relationship with a guy that made her feel worthless and has taken on an interior design job for her company Ruby Slippers. The client author Eddie Faust whose titles reminded me a bit of Ken Follet's wants Pamela to build him his own replica of Caesar's Palace Mall in his courtyard. While this is happening , Zeus watching the effects that having switched Persephone and Lina not so long ago, decides to send the Gods down to Las Vegas for the weekend. During the weekend through an invocation spell, Pamela accidently invokes the help of Artemis - Goddess of Romance to help find her a guy who is godlike but not full of himself - Insert her twin brother Apollo - God of Light . Apollo must make Pamela see him as Godlike and help get that romance spark back in her but as we see the novel progress Pamela and Apollo maybe falling for each other but unfortunately humans and Gods cannot stay together unless something is done. Is there a loophole as Persephone and Lina discovered in Goddess of Spring or will a tragedy and a door close in order for a new life to begin for Pamela ?
Find out in another awesome installment of the Goddess Summoning Series in Book #3 : Goddess of Light.
