Who is my Mandarin ... ?

To Celebrate the release of Kirsten Hubbard's new novel "Like Mandarin" she is running some competitions on her blog at http://kirstenhubbard.blogspot.com/2011/03/i-would-have-given-anything-like.html
Kirsten has organized a blog tour here where writers are writing blog posts about their Mandarin (ie the person they idolized when they were a teenager). We thought it might be a wonderful surprise for Kirsten if we invited even MORE people to write a blog posts this week about their Mandarin and/or tweet about who your Mandarin was throughout the week. If you're feeling uber supportive you can even change your Twitter profile pic to a picture of your Mandarin.

Like Mandarin

So Readers , here is my entry to Who my Mandarin is :

Who is My Mandarin ? The childhood and teen heart-throbs of an everyday New Zealand Girl.

Growing up , we live in a world of celebrities and media and we all end up crushing on some hot celeb , for me Ive definitely had my fair share of guys I wanted and girls I wanted to be like . So for readers of the Phantom Paragrapher, stay tuned to discover which hollywood hearthrobs I fell in love with and which hollywood starlet I wanted to be just like. Tonight on The Phantom Paragrapher Hollywood Idol.

A famous New Zealand TV Show is Shortland Street, it has been running since I was five years old and started in May 1992. Like many TV shows , it has it's fair share of rotating stars. Some of my Shorty Street Crushes were Martin Henderson - he played Stuart Neilson and then of course went off to star as a Hollywood Actor, Michael Galvin - Chris Warner , Lee Donaghue - Hunter McKay, Quinton Hita - Nelson Copeland , Paul Reid - Marshall Heywood and Adam Rickett - Kieran Mitchell.

Another famous TV Show in New Zealand is Australian Soap Home and Away , I had my eyes set on both Dieter Brummer - Shane Parrish , the guy who played Jesse , I also liked the guys who played Will Smith and Mitch and later came Beau Brady - Noah Lawson and Ben Steel - Jude Lawson.  It was also on this show that I had my first girl moment - the one where we so want to be like a particular girl ,For me it was Melissa George - who played Angel Parrish and of course Melissa also ended up as a Hollywood Star.

I was 10years old when my parents started to let me purchase TV Hits Magazine , which was jam-packed filled with posters of hunky hollywood heart-throbs and I had my eyes set on the likes of Luke Perry , Scott Wolf, David Boreanaz - which totally makes sense to why I own Angel , Valentine and Bones seasons 1-5 , Freddie Prinze Junior - which I own his movies She's all that , Summer Catch and Head over Heels , Heath Ledger - I own nearly every single movie he has ever starred in , I went through a crazy fan stage of Leonardo DiCaprio - I even owned a Leonardo DiCaprio clock , Hugh Jackman , Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Cam Gidganet, Matthew McCounaghey, Michael Vartan, Alex Petterfyer, Adam Garcia , James Franco, Johnny Depp , Ryan Reynolds - I fell in love with him when he was on the TV Show "Two guys, a girl and a pizza place" and of course who can forget the classic movie star James Dean.

Moving on from Hollywood Crushes to those Hollywood stars who I envied , it started with Alicia Silverstone , Amanda Bynes , Pre-Lindsey Lohan Drinking and Slut Days - think Herbie and Freaky Friday Lindsey , Hilary Duff - after Lizzie McGuire days , Alexis Biedel - I really loved her in Gilmore Girls , Julia Stiles, Kate Hudson, Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz, Emily and Zooey Deschanel, Kirsten Bell, Amber Tamblyn - Joan of Arcadia Days , Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe and Katherine Heigl.

So Readers, who are your favourite hollywood crushes and stars you envy ? Who is your Mandarin?
