Today's VBT# is a review of a new mystery novel out by female author Laurel Dewey , which is totally awesome as lately there has seemed to be a lack of female mystery writers. The tour is part of Pump Up Your Books Virtual Tours.

Are you a fan of the mystery genre and wanting something to set your bones a tingling and how about a fan of the fast-paced novels , the ones that keep you entertained and not falling asleep with the long winded details like unfortunately I find Patricia Cornwell and Karen Slaughter do. Author Laurel Dewey's writing , I found similar to authors like Karen Rose and Lisa Scottoline and once I started reading it , I was hooked and had to continue till the last page. The only downside for me was that this was the second book in a series - the first is called Protector and featured what seemed by reading Redemption a full on tale as in her new novel , the story touched loosely on life-changing events that seemed to occur in book one which forced lead character Jane to resign from the Denver Police Department. In Redemption , we see Jane move from working in the police force to making her way as a small town PI - which a trend Ive seen in books is that many failed cops, tend to start jobs as Private investigators. On her way from a AA Meeting , Jane meets a woman who convinces her that her grandaughter's killer is on the loose and will kill again if Jane doesn't stop him. As the story progresses we see Jane on a wild goose chase for a killer that leads to a church . Redemption is a mystery novel that combines the thrills and intrigue of a murder mystery with the faith and religion of a christian fiction. Overall I would place Redemption more in the category of an edgy christian fiction rather than straight mystery and thriller genre.
Redemption is a novel that all fans of whether it be mystery or edgy christian fiction will enjoy.

Review: Steel Princess - Book #2 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - December 2019 At the end of Book #1, we were left on a cliffhanger of Elsa being pushed into the pool. At the beginning of book #2, she is saved by a newcomer to the school - Knox.  We can see some friendly flirting but nothing more going on between these two, but it riles up Aiden who still has this mindset of "if I can't have her, no-one can" especially since he is supposed to be engaged to Silver Queens. During Book #2 Elsa starts to recall some more memories and goes to Dr.Khan in hopes that he can open her Pandora's box and can restore her full memories of what happened before she was seven years old. Review: Dr. Strange Beard - Book #5 Winston Brothers Series - Penny Reid - July 2018 If there is a family that I love to read about it has been the Winston Brothers. This has to be one of my favorite book series out there as the brothers ; you can't help but fall in love with them all - with their funny quirks and their redneck comments.
