The Kissing Hand

Review: The Kissing Hand - Audrey Penn - June 2006

Chester the Raccoon is a big boy now and he is about to start school , though of course he is having his doubts about going to school and tells him mum , that he would rather stay home with her and play with her all day . His mum then talks about what school is like , this is a good book for those that are either starting Kindergarten or Primary School. Chester's mum has a tradition called "The Kissing Hand" in which she kisses his hand and that lets her know , that no matter how far away she may seem , that she loves her Chester to bits and that he loves her too and that she will always be there for him.  The Kissing Hand teaches children that it is alright to be scared but that no matter what you may feel you are going to be safe and sound and nothing can go wrong. And as always the book has 32pgs of beautiful illustrations.
The Kissing hand is perfect fot those wanting to teach the child reassurance :)
